San Fransisco Decorator Showcase

The wonderfully talented Brian Dittmar sourced Avrett for his part in this years San Fransisco Decorator Showcase. Brian used our Dozier Chandelier in the bedroom and two Adaway Desk Lamps on each night stand. In the bath he used two Byrnes Down wall sconces and a Georgetown Chandelier. Michael Taylor in LA, NYC & Miami

We are excited to announce a partnership with Michael Taylor Designs in Los Angeles, New York City, and Miami! Over the last 45 years Michael Taylor has come to be synonymous with elegance, quality, and sophistication. Taylor’s interior design work is recognized and renowned worldwide and has been extensively published.  The Company’s carefully edited lines of furniture and accessories reflect a contemporary sensibility while never losing sight of their traditional heritage.

Many influential decorators have worked in a signature style, but few contributed as many enduring influential furnishings to the design market as did Michael Taylor. His interiors appeared in every major magazine from the beginning of his career in the 1950′s to, quite literally, the end. Michael was the designer’s designer. His sense of scale was wonderment unequaled. He deplored the copyists – those who fed on his originality.

Consistently denouncing the cluttered and pretentious, he had a simple ethos: when you take something out, you must increase the size of what’s left. The inventor of what has come to be known as the California Look, he became famous for white-walled, light-filled rooms with boldly over scaled furniture and decorative accessories. Taylor fans recognize his work to be pure and simple but by no means plain – a combination of rusticity and glamor.

More than a decade after his death, Taylor’s reputation as an innovator in the world of home design glows undiminished. ” You can look at a picture of a room he designed in 1953, and it still looks wonderful today”, notes New York designer Albert Hadley.

John Rosselli in Chicago

We are excited to announce a partnership with John Rosselli and Associates in Chicago! Rosselli in Chicago is under new management and is in the final stages of being renovated. It is definitely a destination spot for amazing furniture lines in Chicago. Glad to be a part of the family!

John Rosslli started in business fifty years ago with the opening of his first antique shop in New York. The shop immediately became a destination for interior designers and architects who came to rely on John’s sophisticated eye and the shop’s continually changing inventory of distinctive furnishings.

In response to requests for new furnishings that share a similar sensitivity to his antiques, John opened a showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart in 2004. The showroom has become renowned for its savvy collection of furniture, lighting, upholstery, fabric, and wall coverings, and was recently honored by House & Garden magazine for the second year in a row as one of the Top Ten showrooms in the U.S..

After graduating from the University of Georgia’s Terry College with a degree in Business Administration, Ryan followed his passion in the interior design field by accepting a position at Ainsworth-Noah & Associates, one of the largest and most prominent showrooms in the country. He quickly proved himself as one of the leading salespeople by committing himself to providing the best possible customer experience to each individual that he had the opportunity to work with.

After analyzing the industry for the past several years, Ryan recognized a need and an opportunity to provide fresh and unique products to the market. The White Provision building lent itself to be the perfect place to showcase this new design source. J. Lambeth Renovation

I love all of the folks over at J. Lambeth and Company. They are amazing people with a passion that is hard to match. They recently remodeled their showroom in the Washington Design Center. It is breath taking and we are so thrilled to have them in the Avrett Family.

The Red Party 2010

If you are waiting for the best party Charleston has to offer, then the Halloween Red Party is it. Set in the old Historic City Jail of Charleston (where legend has it 40k men lost their lives), this party is full of amazing costumes, drag queens, great food/drink, dancing, and hint of spook. Each year we are a platinum sponsor for this event and we usually have a dozen or more Avrett products and custom chandeliers on display. One of my best of friends Annise Blackwell, who happens to be an extremely talented interior designer, transforms the property into a site to be seen. Don’t miss this party! Fortuny Venice + NYC

Does Fortuny and their exquisite fabrics really need an introduction?! I think not. We partnered again with Barry Dixon to produce a few pieces for both Fortuny Venice and Fortuny NYC. On the Canal of Fortuny Venice, we produced a mesh console in an cropped elliptical shape and a towering pillow bookcase. We produced the same 11′ x11′ x 2′ pillow bookcase for Fortuny NYC. Here is a trivia question, How do you get a 11′ x 11′ x 2′ 500 pound bookcase up to the top floors of the D and D building in NYC? A little bit of magic.
